Director of Government Affairs (Local or Remote Job)

What You’ll Do

MyRxWallet is seeking to fill the position of the Director of Government Affairs. The position manages federal government and legislative affairs for the company. The position reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for participating in, and implementing, the Guild’s legislative, regulatory and government policy priorities, policy goals and strategy. The position is also responsible for the DGA’s non-partisan Political Action Committee (DGA PAC) and all its related activities. The person will oversee and manage all contractual agreement that's currently in place and develop new relationship government affairs relationship. The position is further responsible for all Federal, State and local government agency.

 

Primary Responsibilities: Policy Development:

  • Develops and executes MyRxWallet policy in coordination and collaboration with the National Executive Director for the following three areas: Governmental Affairs, International Governmental Affairs, and the DGA’s Political Action Committee (PAC).

Specific Duties and Tasks: Government Affairs

  • Responsible for developing the MyRxWallet's legislative agenda on different governmental levels in order to address a range of issues that impact MyRxWallet members including artificial intelligence, copyright protection and intellectual property protection, new media and internet, media consolidation, content control, pension and health care issues and other issues as they arise.
    1. Day-to-day management of the activities of the MyRxWallet’s lobbying firms in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, CA, including both determination and implementation of agreed upon lobbying strategies.
    2. Responsible for outreach to organizations both within and outside the industry as appropriate. Creates, and when necessary, chairs issue oriented and industry based coalitions.
    3. Writes policy and position papers, speeches, letters, and all other materials relevant to presenting the Guild’s position, or for analysis purposes. Responsible for distribution of such materials.
    4. When asked, makes presentations to the National Health Board and Committee and Association. Also, at times, makes presentations to outside groups or organizations.
    5. Coordinates, as needed, with government agencies (e.g. HHS) on policy issues.

 

Specific Duties and Tasks: Political Action Committee

  • Responsible for managing the MyRxWallet Political Action Committee.
  • With MyRxWallet lobbyists, develops yearly strategic recommendations for PAC activities, fundraising, and distribution of PAC dollars:
    1. Writes all fundraising letters; manages their distribution; conducts personal fundraising calls and follow up.
    2. Oversees the creation and maintenance of the fundraising outreach lists and the processing of payments.
    3. With lobbyists, makes assessment and recommendations for contributions to be presented as reported above. Periodic, creates written materials on PAC activities, past giving, and strategy for given year for review and discussion.
    4. Coordinates the distribution of PAC funds to elected officials, including direct contact with offices of all elected officials and ongoing maintenance of those relationships.
    5. As part of PAC activity creates program agenda for PAC contributors, most particularly for a series of DGA PAC Leadership Council meetings with Members of Congress and other elected officials at the MyRxWallet office in Las Vegas, Nevada and Sacramento, CA. Responsible for all work related to those meetings including MyRxWallet membership outreach, elected official outreach, position papers, the write up for DGA Monthly, follow up with elected officials, and logistical arrangements.
    6. Creates annual reports for MyRxWallet, and quarterly reports for MyRxWallet.
    7. Responsible for writing or editing the portion of PAC speeches to membership that refer to governmental or international affairs.

 

Specific Duties and Tasks: International Affairs

  • Responsible for managing the MyRxWallet’s international government affairs:
    • Monitors issues before the European Commission and other international bodies, as needed and as they may impact the Guild.
    • Interacts with U.S. based international organizations and/or governmental agencies when MyRxWallet involvement is required.
  • Responsible for preparing international governmental affairs materials for the National Board meeting, and occasionally for the Western and Eastern Directors Council meetings.

Grant Administrator (Remote Job)

Primary Purpose/Function:
The Grant Specialist will be coordinating and overseeing the grant application and management process including identification of potential new funding sources, development of funding resources for existing and proposed programs and/or services, developing budgets, collaborating on grant applications with various members of the Executive and Site Administrators and processing, monitoring and coordinating required report evaluations on existing grants. The grant management specialist provides fiscal service and support for central office departments and individual school personnel. The position will also answer inquiries from external auditors and federal, state, and local agencies concerning grant information and effectively communicate complex financial issues to employees, administrators, auditors, the general public, and granting agencies.

Essential Functions
1. Develops and prepares grant applications and reports.
2. Develops procedures for the grant application process as needed and collaborate with appropriate personnel.
3. Working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others.
4. Working knowledge of federal and state regulations related to the area of responsibility.
5. Knowledge of principles and practices of governmental accounting.
6. Plans, organizes, and coordinates the centralized accounting and financial reporting for assigned grant portfolios, including preparing annual and project budgets, forecasting revenue, and estimating any carry-over of funds from one year to the next.
7. Researches issues, prepares invoices/ billings, and collects funds for the support of restricted fund expenditures.
8. Prepares or assists in the preparation of all applicable fiscal reports for sponsored programs and ensures the timely submission thereof.
9. Coordinates with key personnel at all levels of the Administrators to support the proper and timely expenditure of grant funds in compliance with applicable guidelines and budget deadlines.
10. Compiles year-end reports, work papers, and analyses necessary for the auditors to complete the yearly audit of the grants.
11. Maintains grant fiscal records and database.
12. Maintains oversight of assigned grant applications on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with funding agencies and regulatory guidelines.
13. Attends necessary technical assistance conferences/meetings at the state and federal levels.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Education and Training:
An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or experience.

1. Fiscal management experience involving budget creation, audit responses, and payment approvals.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 2 years of general accounting experience or equivalent experience managing grants. This should include processing complex financial transactions, ensuring compliance with legal or contractual requirements, recordkeeping, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reporting.

Director of Operations (On-Site)

Position Summary: The Director of Operations at The Shipping Store will be directly responsible for overseeing effective operating procedures across all departments. They will be in charge of all management and supervisory level roles under the operations umbrella and will communicate with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure operations are supporting the overall company vision and mission. The Director of Operations will be responsible for implementing and sustaining procedures that drive positive growth that can be measured through performance metrics.
